Gillian Robespierre
Writer-director Gillian Robespierre is a filmmaker born and raised in New York City. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts, Film & Video Program. Her first feature, Obvious Child, starring Jenny Slate, premiered at Sundance in 2014 and was released to excellent reviews. Her second feature, Landline, also starring Slate as well as Edie Falco, John Turturro and Jay Duplass, is currently in theaters through Magnolia Pictures. Robespierre has also directed episodes of Casual, a Hulu original television show, and HBO’s Crashing. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and daughter.
